Some photos of the wild Exmoor ponies in Sutton Park, taken on my walk yesterday evening. All of these images were captured using a DSLR with a longer portrait lens which enabled me to respect the ponies’ personal space and keep a good few metres from them at all times so as not to spook them.
All of these photos were taken from the main path which you can see in the first photo. I repeat this not to be a bore, but just because I have seen other park visitors follow the ponies into the woods to capture photos of them at close range on their phones, which isn’t a kind or safe thing to do.
Always keep to the paths and bridleways, and allow the ponies to move around freely and peacefully. They’re wild animals, and the park is their home whereas we are just visitors.
